JOB TITLE: Maintenance Machine Repair 1st Shift 

DEPARTMENT: Maintenance

FLSA STATUS: Hourly, Non-Exempt

REPORTS TO: Maintenance Supervisor and Facilities Manager

 

SUMMARY: Repair, maintenance, and installation of machines, tools, and equipment, and in maintenance of buildings, grounds, and industrial plant, by performing the following duties:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Performs repair, maintenance, and installation of machines, tools, and equipment to ensure continuous production operations.

Perform repair of manufacturing facility and equipment.

Fabrication of other items to improve productivity, quality, and safety of the facility

Assist with scheduled repairs.

Perform preventive maintenance

Complete work orders as assigned.

Perform these specific skills, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, welding, pipefitting, steam fitting, etc.

Design and construct ancillary equipment to enhance production.

Install all new equipment and relocate existing equipment as required.

Duties include the responsibility for final part quality, including the obligation to shut down processes producing discrepant material and unsafe.

Performs maintenance activities on utility systems to provide continuous supply of heat, steam, electric power, gas, or air required for operations.

Monitor, assist with tool control as needed. Perform functions inside tool control database.

Make suggestions for continuous improvement and follow-up on continuous improvement projects as required.

PLC troubleshooting experience.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS (Skills & Abilities): To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

EDUCATION:

Vocational school or equivalent experience.

EXPERIENCE:

Vocational school or equivalent experience.

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

Courses in hydraulic and pneumatic systems

Courses in electrical systems (installation, programming, maintenance, etc)

OTHER DESIRED SKILLS and ABILITIES:

A good working knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, pneumatic and mechanical systems.

A broad understanding of sequential logic systems

Mechanical aptitude

Ability to read and understand schematic drawings

Ability to present training that is interactive with each individual employee. To encourage elaborate thinking and processing.

Able to work with minimum supervision

Ability to work overtime as required.
